FAQ

Which shoe should you choose between the Ultra 4 and the Dynamic 3?

The Ultra 4 is designed for long distances, ultra-trail, and extended outings on varied ground. It offers an excellent balance between cushioning, support, and lightness. It is the model to choose if you spend many hours on the paths.

The Dynamic 3 is made for more technical, muddy, or unstable ground. It provides superior grip, very good steadiness, and effective cushioning, making it an excellent choice for medium to long distances on challenging routes.

In short: Ultra 4 for endurance and versatility; Dynamic 3 for grip and precision on difficult ground.

Are Raidlight shoes suitable for ultra-trail running?

Yes. The Ultra 4 model was specifically designed for ultra-trail running. Its comfortable cushioning, sturdy Matryx® upper, and studded sole provide everything needed to endure hours of effort, even on rough or mountainous terrain. The Dynamic 3 can also be suitable for ultras, especially if the ground is muddy, but it is a bit more technical and demanding.

How well do the soles grip on wet or muddy ground?

The Dynamic 3 is the highest performing model on wet or unstable ground. It features a sole with strong gripping power, designed to provide maximum hold on slippery, muddy, or rocky areas thanks to the Vibram® sole. The Ultra 4 remains very versatile with its 4 mm studs, but its focus is more on long-distance comfort than on pure ground technicality. If grip is your priority, choose the Dynamic 3.

How to care for your trail shoes?

Proper care of your trail shoes is essential to extend their lifespan and maintain their performance. After an outing, start by removing the insoles and brushing off excess mud or dirt with a soft brush. Then clean your shoes by hand, using lukewarm water and a mild soap such as Marseille soap. Never use a washing machine or harsh detergents, as they may damage the technical materials or the glue.

Once clean, remove as much moisture as possible with a clean cloth, then let them dry in the open air, in a dry and well-ventilated place. Avoid tumble dryers, heaters, or direct sunlight, which can deform the shoe or damage the materials. To keep their shape, you can stuff newspaper inside while drying.

By caring for your shoes after each outing, you will preserve their cushioning, grip, and comfort for longer, even after hundreds of miles on the trails.
