Trail gear: The finisher's ecosystem

Since 1999, Raidlight has not made isolated products. We build a complete system so you can reach the end. Poles with removable wrist strap. Lamp 1200 lumens, 30h battery life. MX3 nutrition for optimal digestive tolerance.

Why does the equipment make the difference?

In trail running, your equipment is not an accessory. It's what allows you to finish. Poles that give out at the 80th kilometer. A lamp that goes out at midnight deep in the forest. Nutrition that upsets your stomach: a single weak link, and it's abandonment.

For over 25 years, we have tested our equipment in the most extreme conditions: UTMB, Marathon des Sables, Tor des Géants. Trail running forgives nothing. Neither does your equipment.

The 5 criteria that make the difference

Extreme lightness

Designed to go far without compromising on reliability, our gear favors technical and long-lasting materials. Like the Z Carbon Strap poles, which combine carbon and aluminium to offer lightness, strength, and effectiveness in the hills.

2. Absolute reliability

In trail running and ultra-distance, every detail matters. Thanks to our partnership with MX3 Nutrition, we offer a range of nourishment crafted with experts to meet needs before, during, and after exertion, even on the most demanding courses.

3. Long-lasting comfort and ease of use

Designed to last, our gear ensures comfort and lasting performance. The Ultralight headlamp 1200 lumens, with up to 30 hours of battery life and an extra battery, calmly supports night efforts and long distances.

4. Terrain versatility

Because every outing is different, we develop multiple hydration solutions: water bottles, flasks, canteens, water bladders, and cups, suited for both short trips and long adventures.

5. The removable gauntlet: Revolution in carrying poles

Raidlight revolutionizes carrying poles with a removable gauntlet with quick clip. Unlike traditional straps, it removes pressure points, allows the hand to be freed in one motion, and ensures lasting comfort over long distances. Breathable, adjustable, and secure, it provides optimal power transfer while offering freedom and efficiency on all terrains.

Our gear to accompany you everywhere

Depending on the conditions, choose our trail gear that will help you reach the end.

What nutrition for an 8-hour trail?

Folding or telescopic poles?

For trail and ultra-trail running, folding poles are generally the most suitable. They are lighter, more compact once stored, and unfold very quickly, allowing you to use them only when the terrain demands it. Models like the Z Carbon Strap, starting at 200 g, are designed to support the effort without hindering progress.

Telescopic poles may be suitable for hiking or trekking, but in running, the simplicity, quick handling, and weight savings of folding poles clearly make the difference.

How many lumens for a night ultra?

For a night ultra-trail, lighting between 300 and 600 lumens allows for clear and reassuring vision on most terrains. On technical or challenging sections, having a higher power, up to 1,000 lumens, provides better anticipation and a longer view of the ground, without being used continuously.

A lamp like the ULTRALIGHT 1200 meets these requirements by offering a maximum power suited to complex situations, while providing intermediate modes that preserve battery life and visual comfort over time.

Are gauntlets really better than wrist straps?

Yes, gauntlets provide a more direct and effective power transfer than traditional wrist straps. They allow for better support during the push, while reducing hand and forearm fatigue over time.

In practice, comfort is greater on long outings, provided you allow for an adjustment period of two to three outings for the movement to become natural. This feedback is confirmed by field testers and regular users.

What nutrition for an 8-hour trail?

For a trail run of about eight hours, a well-planned feeding strategy is essential. The Pack Trail Medium is designed to meet energy needs over a period of seven to nine hours, providing about 2,074 kcal and 435 g of carbohydrates.

Depending on the race profile and the availability of refreshment points, this pack can be supplemented with food offered along the route, to adjust intake according to the effort and conditions.

Can the lamp be recharged during the race?

Yes, Raidlight lamps are designed to meet the demands of ultra-distance running. Charging can be done during the run thanks to a magnetic USB system, allowing you to connect an external battery without stopping your effort.

It is also possible to change the battery in about ten seconds, as a second battery is provided, ensuring continuous lighting even on the longest courses.
