Trail runner portrait: Patty, the quiet power of ultra trail
In the world of trail running, ultra is often seen as the ultimate challenge. But for Patrizia – aka Patty – it’s not just about the kilometers. It’s a quest for freedom, inner strength, and joy. A Raidlight ambassador since 2021, she embodies a different vision of pushing your limits: demanding, yes, but deeply human and accessible.
From Parisian pavement… to endless trails
It all started in 2019. A friend threw her a challenge: the Paris marathon. Patty comes from CrossFit and Spartan Race. She had never really "run," let alone 42 kilometers. She went for it anyway, with a coach by her side. And in 4h10, she crossed the finish line. The adventure was just beginning.
Little by little, she discovered trail running, caught the real bug. The one that pushes you to explore new terrains, to go out running even when it’s cold, to push yourself… and to have a blast doing it.

Monts d’Or, trail heartland
Settled in the Monts d’Or near Lyon, Patty made these hills her playground. She runs to breathe, to live the moment, to reconnect with herself. What drives her? Fun above all. No pressure, no chasing times at all costs. Just the desire to feel alive.
Progression… ultra inspiring
Year after year, she extends her distances. Legendary races like the SaintéLyon, the LyonSaintéLyon, the Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB® (80km), and the Raidlight Desert Trophy are now part of her journey.

Ultra, but not elite
Patty breaks the mold. For her, ultra is not reserved for an elite. She says it loud and clear: when you want, you can. You just have to give yourself the means, go at your own pace, dare to step out of your comfort zone… and above all, enjoy it.

What motivates Patty? Not records. But everyday heroes. Those who juggle work, family, and passion. Those who, despite everything, find the energy to line up at a start line. Because they love it. Because they believe in it.
