At Raidlight, Made in France is not just marketing
In 2015, when Raidlight settled in Chartreuse, Benoit Laval opened a 500 m² textile workshop. About thirty machines, one conviction: to manufacture locally whatever can be.
In 2024, we opened a second workshop in Veurey-Voroize. Result: 15 people, nearly 40,000 items produced per year. Trail running packs, carbon poles, technical jerseys. 20% of our turnover.
Historic partner of the Réunion Grand raid, we create a limited edition Made in France every year. We also customize jerseys for clubs and races.
Because we don’t just sell Made in France. We really make it.
The 4 pillars of Made in France

Raidlight, Winner of the Janus Industry Award
We are proud to announce that Raidlight has been awarded the prestigious Janus de l’Industrie, a distinction that recognizes exemplary efforts in design, innovation, and responsibility.
This recognition highlights our commitment to rethinking performance textiles: a 100% French production, short supply chains, co-design with users, and a sustainable approach incorporating recycled materials and lifetime repairability.
Through this approach, we prove that another model is possible — more human, local, and responsible — serving trail running enthusiasts.
The jury praised a sincere, committed, and resilient project, embodying a global vision combining performance, environmental impact, and local roots.

HOW IS A RAIDLIGHT PRODUCT MADE IN FRANCE BORN?
Raidlight made the choice of Open Innovation in 2008. Every Made in France product is the result of an open creation cycle, where users play a central role.
STEP 1: DESIGN. The Raidlight R&D team identifies a field need and creates a first prototype in our workshops in Chartreuse.
STEP 2: FIELD TESTING. The prototype is tested on the trails of Chartreuse by our employees, our ambassadors, and willing trail runners.
STEP 3: FEEDBACK & ITERATION. Feedback is collected via the interactive kiosk in the store, the online collaborative R&D platform, and direct exchanges with ambassadors.
STEP 4: LOCAL MANUFACTURING. Once validated, the product is mass-produced in our 2 French workshops.

OUR WORKSHOPS ARE 500 METERS FROM THE TRAILS
And it's open 7 days a week.
When you manufacture on the other side of the world, it takes several months between the prototype and the field feedback. With us, the team tests in the morning, adjusts in the afternoon.
Here, we go running at noon on the trails of Chartreuse with prototypes sometimes sewn that very morning. A detail rubbing? A pocket badly placed? We fix it right away.
You can come see for yourself: our workshops are open to visitors during store hours. Meet the team, see the machines, understand how your trail running pack is assembled.
No secrets. No closed doors. Just transparency.

Which Raidlight products are made in France?
Which Raidlight products are made in France?
Part of our trail running pack (Ultralight 5L, 12L, 24L), our technical jerseys (Ecodry, Ultra Drylight), our carbon poles, as well as many accessories (belts, arm warmers, neck gaiters, underwear). All these products carry the "Made in France" label on their product sheet and tag.
You can find the entire collection on our dedicated page.
Why aren't all products made in France?
Why aren't all products made in France?
Producing 100% in France would multiply prices by 2 or 3, making our products inaccessible to many trail runners. Our choice: offer a premium Made in France range for those who want to make that choice, while continuing to provide high-performance products made in factories selected for their quality and working conditions. We increase the share of Made in France in our production every year.
Today, it represents 20% of our turnover, or 40,000 items per year.
Does the Made in France quality justify the price?
Does the Made in France quality justify the price?
Yes. A Made in France product costs more because:
- French wages are higher (and that’s normal)
- We invest in cutting-edge technologies (laser cutting, heat sealing)
- Each item is checked individually
In return, you get:
- An ultra-technical product, designed with trail runners
- Total traceability (you know where and by whom it was made)
- A reduced carbon footprint
- Supporting local jobs (15 people in our workshops)
Where are your manufacturing workshops located?
Where are your manufacturing workshops located?
We have 2 production workshops in France:
- Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse (38): Our historic workshop opened in 2015, in the heart of the Chartreuse massif. 500 m², about thirty machines. This is also where our store and testing base are located.
- Veurey-Voroize (38): Opened in 2024 at the gates of Grenoble to increase our production capacity.
- Notre-Dame-des-Millières (73): Since early 2025, this third workshop has increased our production capacities.
You can visit the Chartreuse workshop during the store’s opening hours (7 days a week).
Does Raidlight offer a Made in France repair service?
Does Raidlight offer a Made in France repair service?
