On the occasion of Laz's visit to France from August 22 to 29, RAIDLIGHT is organizing meet-and-greet moments with Laz: come walk with Laz during his daily training sessions, or come discover the documentary film premiere in Chamonix.
Creator of the legendary Barkley Marathons and the Back Yard Ultra concept, Gary “Lazarus Lake” Cantrell has become a true legend in the world of trail running. Recognizable by his famous red and black checkered shirt, his offbeat humor, and his unique vision of effort, he inspires thousands of runners worldwide to explore their true limits.

What if you took advantage of his visit to France to share a few kilometers with one of the greatest legends of trail running worldwide?
During his stay, Lazarus Lake will hold some walking training sessions, having just returned from walking across the United States.
We invite you to come walk with him, simply and in a friendly way, and chat with him if the opportunity arises.

DOCUMENTARY FILM "LAZARUS LAKE" IN CHAMONIX
Created by Paul Mellor (Mellor&Smith), the film traces the unique journey of Lazarus Lake, his philosophy, and his distinctive vision of effort. Through never-before-seen footage, encounters, and exclusive testimonies, it reveals the man behind the myth: his relationship with failure, resilience, adventure, and human limits.
Laz will be present for a discussion after each screening.

A story of friendship
The story between Benoît Laval and Lazarus Lake began on the trails of the legendary Barkley Marathons. In four participations on the trails of the legendary Barkley Marathons, Benoît
achieved the unfortunate failure of completing five laps of this legendary race but over four editions, forging in the process a unique relationship with its creator.
Laz gave his approval to Benoît and his friends from the Triumvirate at the birth of the Chartreuse Terminorum as well as to the organization of the Chartreuse Backyard Ultra, the first held in France.
Even today, this exceptional week in France is above all the story of a friendship and a shared vision of trail running.
